This striking wallpaper is inspired by the oldest fragment found in a building constructed on the site of the notorious Marshalsea prison, where Charles Dickens' father was also imprisoned in 1824.

The design features a Gothic lattice pattern with Moorish influences and was the very first wallpaper to adorn the walls of the new building in the late 1870s. The deep red hue gives the pattern a rich and dramatic appearance, perfect for living rooms, reception areas, or characterful bedrooms, where it immediately adds a sense of history and luxury.
